Activities – CANNES (Short Film screening, Tues 20 May 2014)

As an able-bodied person who has previously coached a Special Olympics football team, I have witnessed first-hand the triumphs and struggles that disabled people face daily.

‘Just because a person has a disability that doesn’t mean he or she doesn’t have the same kind of desires, hopes and dreams as everyone else! – Director’s Statement

Director Bruce B. Gordon has been inspired to create a short film that champions this cause, and it is being showcased in Cannes alongside Film Festival at Entr’2 Marches, the 5e Festival International du Court Métrage sur le Thème du Handicap (5th Annual International Disability-Themed Short Film Festival).

Whole ‘Nother Level“, is being shown to make the public more sensitive to disabled people’s struggles to live and be treated like everyone else.  It’s the story of a young man approaching adulthood, whose chance for independent living is in jeopardy because of his disability.  This touches all of us, who, at some time in our lives, have something that tries to force us to live a lesser life than we would like to have.
